Giant Microbes

I saw these on the news tonight. Stuffed animals of varios diseases. They are actually shaped similar to how the virus or bacteria looks under the microscope. I'm a teacher - I'd use them in my classroom, but I'm not sure if I would want them as a toy...I know, it's not really about gardening, but I've never seen anything like it...

That's pretty cool, but honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about them. I mean, do you really want kids to think germs are cute, huggable and cuddly things, and then tell them to go wash their hands and kill 'em all because they're bad? Talk about confusion! lol.
How strange.

ps - how are the peppers doing?

like I said - I don't think I would want to play with one, or have it in my house - but I can see their value as a teaching tool - espectially since they are shaped like the actual organisms are - and they come with a card that talks about prevention and treatment of the various diseases... but if i had kids, i wouldn't be buying these for them...lol

That is a pretty cool idea. I know my boys would want them. I don't think I will share this information though.

Just found you on blotanical. Welcome

I bought one online as a gift for my friend's two year old. How often can you say you gave a kid lice! Ha!
