It's nice to be liked...

I had a unique experience this morning as I entered a school I have spent a lot of time in but haven't been at for about a week. As I was walking up the stairs several students asked "are you in our class today?" They were all asking me when I was coming back to their class. And as I am getting ready for the day in the classroom by myself I can hear them cheering "sweet we have R......... today." And, as much as I try to convince myself that I really don't care if they like me or not, I must admit that I do care and it felt really good to hear them talking about me and saying that they were the lucky class because they had the "good" sub... It's kind of nice to know since most students try to walk all over subs that they were actually happy to see me again

A new idea...

I thought that I could use this space mostly for myself to keep a journal of my initial experiences in the teaching profession. I have already been a sub for three months without any record and I think that this may be an intersting way to track my growth and experiences throughout the rest of the year...
